What is wellness coaching?

Wellness coaching is a fairly new field in Australia, but we believe it can make a big difference to people's lives. Fiona Cosgrove of Wellness Coaching Australia defines it as:

A field in which accredited health and fitness professionals apply evidence‐based techniques from coaching psychology and positive psychology to assist their clients to master wellness and optimal health through cognitive and behaviour change. Wellness coaching focuses on mental and physical behaviours relating to nutrition, exercise, weight control and stress management, and expert advice is delivered only in the field in which the coach has a technical background.

How it works

At MyoFunction, we conduct wellness coaching face to face, separately from  training sessions.

The point of wellness coaching to help clients implement lasting change around their health and fitness.

Wellness coaching helps clients to:

  • master tools and techniques to make positive changes in their lives - for example, giving up cigarette smoking;
  • visualize where they want be with their health and fitness, and believe they can get there;
  • take their health and fitness to a level beyond what they thought possible.
